“We had been together for years and years before finally deciding it was time to make things official.” said Jenny. “The most important element in the planning of the big day was finding the right venue. We enlisted the help of Yorkshire based Wedding planner My Pretties UK. Their event coordinator helped us find the perfect venue – Northorpe Hall and Barn in Mirfield.
“This venue ticked all the right boxes as not only is it a beautiful venue but all proceeds from the wedding went directly to their charity. This was a detail close to our hearts as our son is autistic and has benefitted from the services offered at Northorpe Hall. We really wanted a relaxed vibe at our wedding so with the help of our wedding planner we decided on an autumnal Yorkshire theme. We opted for mismatching bridesmaids and groomsmen outfits but with a common tweed/autumn theme. I chose a simple lace dress by Sarhanna Miller for Debenhams and awesome Irregular Choice shoes. My Pretties UK helped find us the best florist in Kate @ flowers at 180 in Mirfield – they created the most beautiful flower crown, bouquets and button holes. Our delicious cake was made by the very talented Jan @ Tiffany Cakes; the fresh flowers and fruit really suited the theme. On the day, mine and my bridesmaids hair was done by Beth Holdsworth and our make-up by Becki Mantell.
The venue was dressed by Jen at My Pretties UK who handled all the choosing and hiring of vendors. Most of the accessories she uses are handmade and designed for each wedding, so you are guaranteed a really unique product. We opted for Yorkshire themed canapés and bottles of Yorkshire ale and a hot cider bar. Instead of the traditional wedding breakfast we had a lovely vintage afternoon tea complete with scones, cream and jam – all supplied by the Northorpe Hall chefs. To keep the kids entertained (and quiet through the speeches!) Jen found us an entertainer and magician called Magic Haley. She was great and the kids loved her. Our band was a trio of dear friends working in the music industry who put together the most amazing band especially for us on our wedding day.
To continue the theme, My Pretties UK had our evening buffet catered by PIEHECK, a Yorkshire based pie company who make the most unusual and delicious pies. These were served with mash, peas and gravy. The whole days events were captured Simon Holmes Photography. Simon and his lovely wife were an integral part of the day. Simon has a very unobtrusive style and managed to photograph the day naturally as it unfolded. They felt more like wedding guests and friends than hired professionals.”

Absolutely love the colour scheme, looks amazing. Northorpe Hall is stunning too – been there for a few functions never had a bad time and always been impressed.
